Scarlet called me just before she was due with her daughter, Emma Kate, a year ago. That’s right, a year ago (have I mentioned how terrible I am at blogging?!). In fact today is this precious babe’s one year birthday! And today I am at their new house photographing this milestone. Obviously those photos will be coming soon. And no, not a year from now. 🙂 Until then, Emma Kate’s delicious, 6 month baby-roll-goodness will just have to suffice.
We photographed Emma Kate’s newborn session (as I do with most newborn sessions) at their home, in her nursery. So when we were planning her 6 month session we thought it would be a great idea to show how much she’d grown in the same setting. Also, she loves her nursery! She has the softest pink and white rug that she can run her chubby little fingers through. And the light in that room was so soft and beautiful. You can see how it gently embraces the them in that warm glow. Gah…I just love it!
It was Emma Kate’s 6 month birthday when we shot these so of course we had to get a few photos of her in her birthday suit! Baby rolls are gone in the blink of an eye. So it’s an important, not to mention ADORABLE, detail for me to photograph during the different stages of baby’s first couple of years. Give me all the chunky baby rolls and baby bottoms!
She wasn’t quite crawling all over the place when I was there last but after all that sitting and snuggling with mama she was ready to work on that mobility again. And Grandma’s lap was the best motivator. This girl loves her some Grandma!
