I typically photograph newborn portrait sessions at my client’s home. However, when my clients are new to Wilmington and in the middle of building their dream home they opted for something much more adventurous. In fact we took to the high seas for this location! Okay, so maybe not the high seas but a quick boat ride across the intercostal waterway to Masonboro Island.
None of this is surprising if you know Lindsey and Mike. You may remember their daughter’s Birth Story where they kept the pregnancy a surprise from most of their family members. If you haven’t seen these photos or watched their Birth Video you must stop now and watch!
And welcome back! As I was saying, Lindsey and Mike are an adventurous duo. They moved to Wilmington a week before she gave birth and literally the day before they were on their paddle boards in the waterway. There’s no stopping this family from living their best life.
It may have been 85 degrees that evening but there was a storm on the mainland creating a cool breeze that blew across the waterway. Being two weeks new, Maeve’s skin was still very thin which causes babies to lose their body temperature fairly quickly. So we wrapped her up in this creamy, soft, organic cotton swaddle blanket from Cloth Apothecary.
My personal taste is very neutral so the whites and creams that Lindsey chose for their island session were a dream for me. And Maeve was the perfect teeny tiny size for this adorable cream, knit romper from Lantern Hill Knits. I mean come on, how stinking adorable is she?!
And can we pah-lease talk about Lindsey’s gorgeous white dress from Free People?! I want this dress in every color possible! I want it for all my clients too! It’s not only GORGEOUS but it’s comfortable, flowy, and oh-so-soft.
As always, I have to thank the talented and crazy crew at Richard Photo Lab for these beautiful film scans. I don’t know what I would do with out you gals and guys! Muah!
