I love black and white portraiture. So of course I was ecstatic to find one roll of Ilford Delta 3200 left on the shelf at my local camera shop. What was I going to shoot? Where was I going to shoot? It stayed in my fridge for a few weeks before I decided I wanted to experiment with a boudoir maternity session. Lucky for me my gorgeous sister was eight months pregnant and is completely comfortable in her own skin. Thank you Melissa!

It’s important to me for my clients to feel comfortable and beautiful during their session.  I love hearing expecting mothers say they have never felt so beautiful or so feminine.  I know that this sentiment is often short lived as the due date approaches but I also know that it’s a feeling my clients have expressed looking back at their maternity portraits. The female body with all of it’s beautiful curves was created to create; to grow a tiny human!  As women, expecting or not, lets celebrate the uniqueness of our bodies and the beauty that comes along with it!

I had so much fun experimenting with the black and white film and indoor lighting and LOVE the images that came from it. I hope you love them as well. More so I hope you are inspired to look in the mirror today and see yourself in a brighter light.
