I am simply over the moon about my collaboration with Wilmington Coastal Doulas. I knew from the moment I met Whitney that a. we were going to be friends and b. we were going to be working together at some point. We initially met through a shared client earlier this year. What was supposed to be a short 30 minute meeting lasted three hours. And we agreed that it probably could have lasted much longer. We talked about everything from labor and delivery, to our childhood experiences, to branding and business. We were all over the place but always on the same page. It was fantastic.
If I’m being completely honest, I will tell you that I was not exactly sure what a doula was. I did know that a doula was not a mid-wife but that was pretty much it. So if you are like me a year ago, you should know that a doula is incredible. They help support families through the life changing experience of having a baby. To be more direct, a doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. What’s more is that doulas also provide support to the entire family. Whether it’s a new father, a big sister or brother, or even the grandparents, Wilmington Coastal Doula offers educational classes and services to everyone in the family.
After working alongside Whitney’s team member, Hali, during a birth, I knew that not only did I want a doula in the room with me when or if my day comes, but that I also wanted that experience for all of my clients. Whitney and her team are all gentle, sweet, and caring women. They are there to lend support to you and your partner in the months leading up to your baby’s birth, during the labor and delivery process, and even postpartum. They support the decisions YOU make. They support YOU.
So what does this mean for our clients? Both Wilmington Coastal Doulas and I agree that the birth of your baby and bringing him or her home is a big, beautiful new chapter in your family’s story and we want to offer all of our new and expecting families both heirloom quality photos along with guaranteed dependable support. Your family is growing and your priorities are changing. Hiring a photographer takes any pressure off of you to document it yourself. Hiring a doula take any pressure off of you to do it all by yourself. Our services provide you and your family the space to simply be in the moment, provide support, and focus on your family.
